Follow-up of Results
At Campsie Medical Practice, we are actively involved in preventative medicine and caring for your general well-being. As a patient of the practice, you will be on our Recall and Reminder System.
Our reception staff will call if there are:
RECALLS made by the doctors to see you regarding your recent pathology results. For patient confidentiality, test results are not usually given over the telephone. It is requested that you make a brief follow up appointment.
REMINDERS in place for your on-going care (ie regular checks, health assessments, care plans, cervical screening, immunisations etc). Routine Reminder SMS will be sent via Hotdoc in English and Chinese. You have the option to opt out of this service.
You are welcome to make an appointment (approx 2-3 days) after the pathology test to review the results with the doctor.
It is important that you keep your current contact details up to date with our staff, so we can contact you.
At Campsie Medical Practice, an automated SMS will be sent to remind you of your appointment and will provide an option to confirm your appointment. We will also call you to confirm your appointment for Allied Health and Specialists.
Doctors will take/make phone calls to patients when time permits. If busy, or if the doctor is consulting a patient, they may elect to call you back. The nurse can help determine urgency. We encourage most problems to be dealt with face-to-face in a consultation. Please leave a detailed message at reception, including your name and contact number for urgent matters.
Consultation with the doctors, specialists and allied health is by appointment. Patients presenting without an appointment will be fitted in at the earliest available time. There are walk-in on the day appointments reserved for urgent/emergency medical matters.
Please see our friendly reception staff on your arrival to avoid an unnecessary delay in the waiting room.
Please be courteous to call in advance if you require to cancel or postpone your allocated appointment time.
Every effort is made to keep to appointment times but this is difficult due to emergencies, walk-in patients or unexpected longer consultations. To help us schedule appropriately, please tell our receptionists if your consultation is likely to be long (e.g. insurance medicals, postnatal checks, pap smears, counselling, excisions, and if more than one member of the family is to be seen). This is to ensure everyone is seen on time for their allocated appointment.
Please note that all test results must be discussed with the doctor before you obtain a copy from reception.
All Specialists and Allied Health consultations are appointment only and require a current referral from a GP.
Are only provided for patients of this practice when necessary on request due to immobility or other severe health reasons only (as per doctors discretion). We encourage you to attend the surgery as this is better equipped for examination and treatment.
If you require medical attention after hours please call Sydney Afterhours Service on: 8724 6300
For emergencies ring 000 or attend the closest hospital to you.
Continuity of Care
We recognise it is not always possible to see the same doctor (if they have days off or are full), however we endeavour to help you see your nominated doctor. Our GPs, Nurse, Allied Health and Specialists routinely review your well-being to ensure that any issues are addressed.
Your Medical Information and Privacy
Please note that for security reasons only, our Practice is fitted with camera surveillance in common areas to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.
Transfer of Medical Records
If your require a copy of your records to be sent elsewhere, you are required to fill out authority forms. Our practice can print a patient summary free of charge, but may charge up to $30 for preparing complete records.
Patients Rights and Feedback
We recognise that patients have certain rights and we will endeavor to support these rights. If you are unhappy with any aspect of the care we provide to you or if you feel your rights are not supported, we would appreciate your comments. Your doctor, the Practice Manager or the receptionists on duty are available to discuss any problems you may have.
