Important Changes to Assignment of Medicare Benefits
Medicare has introduced new requirements for bulk-billed services.
As a result, patients who are bulk billed will now be asked to return to reception after their appointment to sign an Assignment of Benefit form.
What does this mean for me?
- You will be asked to sign a Medicare Assignment of Benefit form.
- The form allows Medicare to pay your rebate directly to the practice for your bulk-billed service.
- This will need to be completed after your consultation.
- The process only takes a minute.
Why is this changing?
- This is a new Medicare requirement that applies to healthcare providers across Australia.
- It is not a policy change introduced by our practice.
- We are required to comply with Medicare's updated Assignment of Benefit process.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
